What's really important

Dear Family 

 So just starting off, It's so good to hear from you and I couldn't be safer or better.
We're tucked away in the little mountain cities of brasil.

I know why God called me right here for this time right now. Everyone is going a little crazy, stressed out, paranoid here but in the mission everything is amazing we are working our buns off in the service of the Lord. Preparing missionaries, tracking buses, and flights and everything, helping the missionaries rally around the members and use the tools they have better. 

This is the most exciting time to be a missionary! haha 
Presidente called us to put together a war room, where we can make plans, so in a couple hours we got all of the phone lines that we had working, a couple whiteboards and started making plans and calling all of the missionaries. 
We are keeping an eye on everything. It's exciting to be in the middle of the action.
We have been working non-stop to take care of the missionaries, so if anyone asks the missionaries have got God, angels and a handful of young adults on their sides. So I think everything is going to end up all right.
We turned into a call center and constantly updating missionaries and families. I'm serving with the best of the best here in the mission.

I also feel an immense sense of peace. President and sister were truly inspired. We were prepared weeks before all this. Some of the missionaries are confused about how they are going to keep doing the work with all these restrictions and truly it is going to be way different. Just be obedient and the rest will fall into place.  We aren't going to visit people as much or interact with people, but with so many missionaries wanting to do so much good, it's hard to keep missionaries inside. We are going to help so many people. 

I have thought a lot about Paul example. Even when he couldn't visit the members, he sent letters of support and his testimony. We are going to be as Paul, not being able to visit many people, but we are going to do everything we can to teach the people and uplift the members. We have missionaries writing letters, calling people and writing music to uplift. We are getting creative hahaha.

President said something that I loved "the restrictions that present themselves, help us focus on what is truly important".  And it's so true, we are going to have to focus on what is truly important!
This gospel is all that is truly important, so I hope these restrictions help you all focus on what is truly important to you and find out what is truly important for the Lord.

keep being shining examples to everyone they need it more than ever.

2/8/20 Hey my familão Transfers this week and here are the Highlights: We got to see some awesome missionaries finish their missions! The new missionaries are great! I actually know one of the sisters from home. Sister Ramirez she's a friend of Jordan and Blake Andersons family, and she went on trek with our ward a couple years back! She's already speaking Portuguese so well!!  There is a 7 foot Brazilian Elder who almost played basketball, but came on a mission instead. Ssooo huge yeah!!! We went to the bus station at 5 in the morning and I got to hang out with the new missionaries catching buses, so that was cool to talk with them more. They speak a few words, but have strong simple testimonies and are so excited to just go out and DO! Elder Pinkston broke his foot and so now will be living with us until he gets his medical exams done and heals up a little. He's from American Fork and is an awesome guy! He works in a hardwoo...

Opa Oi Alo

We worked our butts off this week and it was great. We are in a branch here but it has a lot more members than my last area. And we eat lunch with members every day. This week we spent so much time looking for people. I’m helping my  companion get over his fear to start a conversation with strangers . H e is a great guy. Just quiet. We are trying to visit all of the less active members and updating "The LIST". We visited some people that hadn’t been to church in months. Some haven’t been in almost a year. I said to my companion that I would ask one guy to help us get to know the neighborhood and find some friends here. My companion said, “there is no way that he will want to help us”. But when we gave him a short lesson, shared testimonies and then asked him to come with us for the day, he said: “for sure”. What have you learned?

Feb 29 2020 Dear Family So Elder Eastwood was asking us about what we had learned in District meeting! And I loved hearing about what everyone said they had learned. I LEARNED SO MUCH! So my new go to question is what have you learned lately? So here are some things I learned this week Today was already so great. Presidents wife came over to clean our house with us to show us how a pro does it. So I learned a lot about cleaning today haha Listening to music while scrubbing bathrooms reminded me good ol’ Saturday morning cleaning at home. We have a couple awesome lessons for today, with investigators!!! Aide and also Josemar and his family! Pray for them! Also, other important people that need Gods help: Jose and his adorable family, Nicolas!, Eduardo, actually… just buy a phone book from Juiz de Fora and just go name for name praying for everyone!
