New missionaries are great
2/8/20
Hey my familão
Transfers this week and here are the Highlights:
The new missionaries are great! I actually know one of the sisters from home. Sister Ramirez she's a friend of Jordan and Blake Andersons family, and she went on trek with our ward a couple years back! She's already speaking Portuguese so well!!
There is a 7 foot Brazilian Elder who almost played basketball, but came on a mission instead. Ssooo huge yeah!!!
We went to the bus station at 5 in the morning and I got to hang out with the new missionaries catching buses, so that was cool to talk with them more. They speak a few words, but have strong simple testimonies and are so excited to just go out and DO!
Elder Pinkston broke his foot and so now will be living with us until he gets his medical exams done and heals up a little. He's from American Fork and is an awesome guy! He works in a hardwood cabinet shop and made everything from wood night stands to wooden kayaks. We've already had some good talks about making things in the woodshop.
We are planning a lot to help the members be more integrated with the investigators and with the missionary work. We were discussing that with our mission leader and one of the Brazilian sisters said "oh this reminds me of a movie I saw one time" She then compared the work to “Remember the Titans” and how the coach use some strategies to unite his team. The rest of the meeting was dissecting “Remember the Titans” and trying to make plans on how to help the ward feel united and work and win!!! This is the Lords work and it’s going forward HELP OUT YOUR LOCAL MISSIONARIES IF YOU DON'T HAVE THEM OR DON'T KNOW THEM, JUST GO OUT AND DO THE WORK!! we are in this work together as a team.
And at the end the week, it was summed up as getting a running start to push Elder Pinkston up the hill to our house in his wheelchair haha. It was a workout.

We got to teach a lady in a really hard time. It was a super spiritual lesson and I know she felt the spirit and it was good to help good hearted people.
Also, have I told you how much I love to always have something to talk about to everyone!! I love that we can talk to everyone about Jesus Christ!! We talked to this guy today, he was so excited to talk to Americans and he was so open. We talked about God and religion.
I LOVE YOU ALL
-Elder Sheffield
