Preparing for Zone Conference

Jan 11 2020

Zone conference was awesome. I did a quick training on how to make a mission budget (trust me it was funnier than it sounds).
But the best part was Presidente. He talked about Presidente Nelsons invitation to be a part of the restoration. Maybe some of you don't know, but 200 years ago in 1820 a boy prayed to God and had received a history changing vision of God and His son Jesus Christ. This has come to be known as the first vision and was the first step in bringing the restored church, that this same Jesus Christ had brought to the earth when he ministered in the holy lands. Now it’s been 200 years and like it says in Ephesians the church of God is for the perfecting of the saints. More and more disciples have come unto Christ and the restoration of his church still continues!

The president and prophet of the church in our days, invited us to make this 200 years count! Immersing ourselves in the truth that we have. And as missionaries we are inviting and teaching with even more power from the light and truth that we now have!
I have come some much closer to Christ through this his church.

Later in the week we taught English class. We taught about foods and meals and American culture. It was really funny. We also found out one of the men who came to class is actually a member who hasn't come to church in years! We sat down and talked to him and he is going to church tomorrow and might bring his family!

We started moving the mission office! We had to move everything out of the office and storage. The engineer came and planned out how they are going to move all the built in furniture to the new office. So this week is going to be just moving trucks and boxes, but it'll be great to start something new.

We all had the idea of making a mission time capsule and are putting the testimonies and a Book of Mormon with a scripture marked from every missionary! It's coming along great!
A recent convert stopped by here while I was writing this letter and she is preparing to go on a mission! She is a member missionary machine!

She gave me a photo of us missionaries with her when she was baptized!  How can you not see the difference that happens in people's lives because of the influence of Christ.
Later today we will be going to a baptism and have some visits with some families here in the neighborhood.
Wish us luck.
Thanks for the prayers,
Elder Sheffield
