Thanksgiving

Nov 30 2019
A few things that happened this week:
Best thing: A guy, we talked to the other day, just walked into the church and he is living in the area.

MIRACLES we had two baptisms at night so didn't have time to make some American thanksgiving food, but I did make some excellent mashed potatoes.

Today we practiced some Christmas songs because we have a city wide Christmas music night and we are going to sing and set up a table to #share the light.

We are working like crazy to get our mission (Christmas themed) conferences ready.

We taught Daniela and Nilton 3 times this week and they are reading the Book of Mormon and praying. They had some difficulties this week, but they are doing great.

Funny story
A huge Brazilian team won like the biggest game in South America. And we just happened to be in the area, but in like a poorer crazier side  of the city. We had scheduled to visit this family there. So we were walking down the street and then we just hear the whole city making noise. It started a slow rumble growing louder and louder. In the city, it was just a constant sound of yelling. So if you ever wanted to know what it’s like to have like 480,000 yelling at the same time you should’ve been there. And then fireworks started going off.
They were like huge arial fireworks going off on the ground and the streets were packed with people. It was the closest thing I’ve ever felt to being in a war zone! hahaha

The best part is that we met a woman in the midst of all this craziness and we asked if we could teach her. It was so funny trying to hear anything or teach anything with all that noise, hahah but it all worked out.

We met a bunch of new people and families to teach this next week and I’m so excited.
I am so grateful to have known the gospel my whole life.

I love you so much family,
-Elder Sheffield
