Give yourself over to God

Image
Nov 23 2019 Hey thanks for the letter  Honestly looks like the boys are doing better in Piano Federation than me and Andrew did in past years haha. But there were always some miracles being shown in our preparations for the recitals. Give a hug to mom for me. I think that a mission is never just like one day you decide to give everything to God and then it's just happy and easy and you just grow. It’s like that times 200. You give yourself over to God, he blesses you and helps you and then you reach your limits and you have to give more over to God. And then he blesses you more. Then it gets hard again and repeat it all over. It’s not one big wall that you get over in the first few months. I realized it’s more like a steeple chase. It’s a bunch of walls that slowly get bigger, that stretch us more and more. “Walls” that train us and push us. And like Nate told me,  it doesn't stop after the mission. I am so proud of missionaries. ...

Lows and Highs of this week

Image
hey my beautiful family! Pictures from P-day Well it was transfer week and so you know what that means! I had lots of early days and late nights this week. But it was a great week. Low I waited at the bus station for a long time helping with tickets and documents of the missionaries High I passed by a tourist shop and bought a toucan mating call whistle (cool right) Low Lots of the American Elders had to stay to start their Brazilian I.D.s. High I got to talk with people in the street with the novinhos (brand new missionaries). They got here from Provo MTC or from other state side missions so it was their first time in the streets of Brasil. I talked a lot with them and a few are more open than others, a few speak better than others ,but there was one elder who was so positive. He knew he didn't speak the best or knew everything about the scriptures but he just did his best and was so positive about getting better and improving.  That’s a...

Patients and Patience

November 9 2019 We walked up "Christ's Hill" for p-day This week I felt a lot like dad. You know why? I spent a lot of time in a hospital. We paid for a taxi for an Elder to get him here to the mission office and to a hospital.  He was having a lot of problems, and so we were helping him recuperate at our place Monday.  Then we had to take him to the hospital again Monday at midnight. Tuesday we woke up real early again and spent all day going to clinics and taking exams and waiting in the waiting rooms. We had left in such a rush that I didn't have time to grab my scriptures so I was dying sitting so long without something to study. We got some rest, then I went back to the hospital Tuesday night to stay with the Elder and stayed with him on Wednesday. So all of this gave me time to read some Book of Mormon and do some more studies. Im finishing the Book of Mormon! (na verdade o Livro de Mormon) It was a week that required a lot of patience. Sund...

Nov 2 2019 What a spooky… Missionaries serving in the office No, Actually, Halloween wasn't that exciting because no one really celebrates it here. We invited everyone to come to an activity. We were talking to the  new member and invited him to come to our activity and he said he wouldn't go because it wasn’t of the God of light but of the other one he said hahaha. So the superstitious people aren't a huge fan of Dia das Bruxas (day of the witches). But our halloween consisted of marking some family nights with some members Tuesday Presidente called us into his office and told us that he felt to call new replacement secretaries for Elder Halh and Elder Aurichio. So, Wednesday we got 2 new secretaries that will be  trained for 2 weeks and then stay here with us in the office in the places of the other two. Their names are Elder Eastwood (From Hawaii) and Elder Cesar (from Rio grande do Sul). They are super excited and I'm excited to ch...

I love my mission

Oct 26 2019 Jumping for Joy - RAIN Joshua called us this week. He has gotten over a cold. He likes to cook things for the other missionaries. And has gotten to be known as a good cook. He loves his mission president and the chance he has to get to talk to him 3 times or more a week.
