Ai familia

This week was long.

The missionaries in our area of pointe nova are Elder Ribeiro (who calls himself elder gordo) from central Brazil. Elder Chan a really funny energetic elder from the Philippines. He knows a little english, but refuses to speak to help me learn Portuguese. Elder Arruda, my trainor.

Elder Chan
Living with the other elders is driving me a little crazy and I need to work on being more patient with the elders. I like having all of my things a certain way and Elder Ribeiro and Arruda are... well not that way hahaha. Im trying to not care so much about my things and the things around me and work more working harder and growing more

A good friend of ours, passed away this week he was 70ish years old. He was always sitting on the front row early Sunday morning ready for church. He was a really nice guy. The funerals are very different here in Brazil, but it was good we got to go and support the family. He was the only member of his family, so we talked a lot about what the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes in and about life after death. We also got to say a prayer with the whole family before they closed the casket.

Sunday was so good fast and testimony meeting was great and a person we are teaching couldn't stop talking about how much they loved the feeling in church. My companions trainer taught him how to make cookies and he thought he remembered how and so for a family home evening with a family he made cookies.

He eyeballed all the ingredients and I think he left out a few. When he pulled them out of the oven they were a pool of baked solid sugar. To be nice, we tried to eat the cookies, but really they were so bad it was like charcoal hahaha. I think I'm going to try to make actually cookies tonight and hopefully it turns out better.

I feel like I'm already growing so much, but have so much more room to grow.

I love you all so much
Ate proxima semana, Elder Sheffield
