Opa Bom Dia!!
This week was a little crazy, A lot happened.
My Birthday was on Monday and it was weird to be in a completely different country with people I don’t know but it was so good.
Tuesday we were walking up a hill as usual when my companion Elder Sampaio got a call from our mission headquarters that he being transfered and that he would leave the next day! We finished up the visits that day and headed back to our apartment. We got all of his stuff together and packed up all his suitcases.
We got up at 4 the next morning to walk 45 minutes to the bus station. My TRAINER who was supposed to be TRAINING me left me;(
Thursday we walked a lot from one side of the city to the other and back a couple of times lots of our plans fell through and lots of our meetings were canceled.

Luiz Fernando's baptism |
Friday was the best day of the week. We had a baptism for a boy we'd been teaching Luiz Fernando!!! He’s the coolest little kid ever and he reminds me a lot of my cool little brother Samuel. He is 14 years old and has a goofy grin and a mess of hair. His family we have been teaching, A mother, two older Daughters, and two younger sons are really nice and we got to spend a lot of time with them before and after the baptism. Luiz Fernando was so excited and It was such a good baptism. I wish more members of the ward were there to support and I wish that it went more smoothly but that’s not really important. A boy choose to follow the savior and become a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints and the first member in his family.I know that this is the true church that Jesus Christ established while he was lived here on earth today and that his power and authority is still on the earth today. I know that through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we can find happiness in our lives and make our way back to our heavenly Father.
Sunday I was sitting in sacrament meeting and the person conducting the meeting tried (and failed) to say Elder Sheffield, I WAS GIVING A TALK. No one told me and I had nothing prepared oh also I have only been speaking Portuguese for like a month. So I got up there and Did my best:) It was good talk I think everyone understood most of what I said haha but I got to teach about the importance of making Christ the center of our lives and bear my testimony also. I also got to help give Luiz Fernando the Gift of the Holy Ghost and confirm him a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints.
It was a good week!

The Fellowship of the Unashamed
I am part of the fellowship of the unashamed.
The dye has been cast out! I have stepped over the line.
The decision has been made; I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I won't look back, let up, slow down, or be still.
My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure.
I'm finished and done with low living, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tainted visions, worldly talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals.
I no longer need pre-eminence, positions, promotions, plaudits or popularity.
I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk with patience, am uplifted by prayer, and labor with power.
My face is set, my gait is fast, and my goal is Heaven.
My road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my guide is reliable, my mission is clear!
I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, divided or delayed.
I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.
I won't give up, shut up, or let up, until I have stayed up stored up, and paid up of the cause of Christ.
I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till I know, and work till He stops me.
And when He returns for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me.
My banner will be clear.
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ: for it is the power of God unto Salvation to everyone that believeth." -Romans 1: 16
