Brazil is so AMAZING
OI BOM GIA!!
So much has changed this week. Last Monday I was in New York boarding a flight and now I’m in the middle of Brazil with palm trees out my windows. Sao Paulo is Amazing! You look out towards the horizon and the skyscrapers just go on forever. We talk almost exclusively in Portuguese and Its so good to actually be surrounded by people who speak the language you are learning. We get to walk around the city outside of the C.T.M (Brazil MTC). and go buy food. The people and the culture is so great. We can hold a conversation in Portuguese alright and order food pretty well, but we mostly just say good morning and hello to everyone we see. I wish I could take more pictures but they don’t want us to take our cameras out and look like tourists. They dropped us off in a busy downtown street of Brazil and we got to talk to people walking down the street we met some really nice people and had some good long conversations as best we could. Everyone turns and looks at us walking down the street because we look a little out of place. Sometimes it’s like playing charades to get the point across, but we always end up laughing. Our Brazilian room-mates Elder Silva and Elder Sena and so funny, and we learn so much from each other. The food here is good; a small breakfast but a big lunch of rice and beans and meat. Everyone speaks so fast, both the teachers and all the other Brazilian Missionaries, but now we are learning how to speak like actual Brazilairos.
Lows:
We have 45 minutes to email and I am such a slow typer
I wish breakfast was bigger :(
Highs:
Everyone speaks Portuguese and they all have different accents
It’s Winter here, so it’s not too humid and hasn’t rained at all but it finally rained last night
The city is so chaotic and clustered together around us. I love looking out and seeing all the colorful buildings stacked on top of each other.
Brazilians are so funny they know a lot of American culture and always sing popular American songs and ask us what they mean.
I am growing so much both in Portuguese and in my knowledge of the gospel.
Eu sei que deus es nosso AMOROSO pai Celestial Por Meio fe en Jesus Crist nos podemos vencer todas as coisas. Ele nos ama!
(I know the God is our loving Heavenly Father. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we can overcome all things. He loves us!)
Word of the week is LEGAL (cool)
I love you all
TUDO BEM
