Sep 21 2019 Soooo… Monday, I worked with my Companion Elder Gonzalez and all the rest of the days I had splits with someone different everyday.  Life in the mission HQ is like that. There’s always something going on and there is always someone visiting from a different city. ( a big hug ) Its crazy that its snowing in Utah.  IT IS SO HOT THESE DAYS! I worked a few days with Elder Rodrigues from Liverpool, England. He is a funny guy that loves rugby. Elder Coelho is the executive secretary. We got to teach an awesome couple, Daniela and Nilton. They lost a brother and their father last year and her mother a few months ago and Nilton lost his restaurant a few weeks ago so they have been really prepared and really tested. Sept 14 2019 Hey my bonitinho family Someone wrote me this week and said they thought I was home when they saw Sam driving the jeep. That’s my boy! Saturday We went bowling and then we went to a baptism of Elpidio and Antonio. Sunday we had Ward Conference. We also had 4 people that were confirmed with the Holy Spirit, which was so great also.   We had splits with some of the other elders, Elder Hahl (Reference secretary), Elder Aurichio (Housing coordinator) and also our district leader. I made a strawberry shortcake on Thursday because it was an elders birthday. It ended up looking a little shabby but it’s not the outside that counts. I had some great meetings with Presidente. It’s amazing that I have so much time to learn from him and I get to sit down and talk with him like 3 times a week. He’s really humble and patient and that are two things I’m needing a lot right now. Haha Love Elder Sheffield

Sept 7 2019 OIIIIII Familia Boa Sabadão!!!! Domingo passado, We had church earlier than usual and combined two wards and it was huge!  Then we ate lunch at a members house and I still can’t believe he didn’t let me wash the dishes! I had a 4 month streak of washing them every single lunch. He said “that as representatives of Christ he couldn’t let us do that type of work”. They are a great member family. Then we went to the devotional with President Russel M. Nelson to the saints in Brasil. It was great. He had everyone stand up and do some stretches and telling everyone that “We need to get up more often and tell our feet they have something to do” Ya heard that Sam and Jake? The prophet said it, so that means it’s a commandment!!! Then we had a baptism at night, an investigator of the assistants. A mom and daughter, they are so amazing. August 25 2019 I am learning a lot of patience and humility. How are you my beautiful family?!!?!? After a long day at the mission office Yesterday we got together as the missionaries of Juiz de Fora at the church and got to hear a live devotional with the prophet who went to Brasilia, the Brasilian capital and he talked to the missionaries serving in the whole country. IT WAS SO GREAT! We heard from Elder Aidukaitis (Area Presidente of Brasil) his wife, Elder Cook and his wife, Mark Woodruff (The prophets secretary- AWESME STORY who by chance was also was my mission prep teacher when I was at BYU- how cool right?!!!) I loved the talk by Wendy Nelson. She is so educated and the way she talked, you felt the strength she had and the testimony she had of the sacred callings in the church.
