The goal is progression & improvement

What a great week.
My companions great.
We worked a lot and had lots of little blessings and miracles.
We started talking about the parable of the talents and I don't think we understand that one very well. I never liked in church everyone just assumes that talents means abilities or talents. I think we lose so much of the meaning just assuming the lord was comparing the money (talents) to our physical abilities (talents). Here are some thoughts bout what i learned and felt reading this story.
-The servant knew their master before, he was no stranger to them:
If we want to do what the Lord wants for us we should probably first get to know the Lord.
-The Lord didn't say "hey I expect this of you and this much from you"
No the master went straightway on his journey. We need to do our best with what we know is good and with what we know the Lord wants for us.
-The talent is no little sum. It’s like all you earn working for 20 years (as kids they teach it like " you get 5 coins you get 2 coins and you get 1 coin") It isn't just pocket change it is literally the equivalent to 500,000 dollars for just one talent!
So it's obvious the Lord gave a LOT to his servants even the one who just received 1 Talent (half a million dollars)
-The wicked servant acted out of fear
The more I learn about life and the Lord the more I realize how big of a tool fear is against the Lords plan. Don't let fear keep us from acting.
-When the Lord came back, he expected change, growth, improvement.
The lord called those who don't have increase (who lack growth) SLOTHFUL. This is clearly a gospel of growth
-In the end the two righteous servants had growth and BOTH received WORD FOR WORD the same blessing
Don't let the growth of others stop you from realizing your own growth
This week we did a lot! President talked a lot about focus! So we were a lot more focused.
I promise that if we seek to work with much focus, the Lord will bless us with converts to teach and challenge to come and see, come and stay and come and help. We will meet, teach and invite people in a normal and natural way, showing our friendship and love for them.
I love you so much
Hope you all grow this week The goal is PROGRESSION & IMPROVEMENT
Study hard pray hard and serve hard
