BOA TARDE MINHA FAMILIA AMERICANO

BOA TARDE MINHA FAMILIA AMERICANO (good afternoon my American family)

Oi Queridos (hello darlings)
I never know how to start letters so let’s get right to it.

I love hearing about Sam’s tennis matches and man! he looks like a pro (visor and all, the whole shabang)

We taught a lot of families this week. We received a reference of a man from his son. And we were going there the third time and ran into a man on the same street. He said “hey Mormons, where are you from?”
We ended up teaching the restoration, and one by one his whole family came out to the street and we taught about “ no we don’t worship Joseph Smith and yes we believe in the same Jesus Christ  and yes we really do leave our families for two years”.
Eles sao muito gente boa ( really just plain ol’ good people). In the end, we got to see them completely change about what they thought about us. Eventually it was just the young couple (son and daughter in law ) oft he man left talking with us, and they accepted a Book of Mormon and they said they would read it all.
The mission is great!!!!!!!! wooo hooooo!!

Here in Brazil there is a lot African influence and one big part is an African religion here. They practice offerings and voodoo and spirits and some other interesting beliefs. So it’s interesting sometimes to teach about the Church of Jesus Christ. We taught a family, of this African religion, about the atonement and the purpose of Jesus Christ for us. And it was such an amazing lesson. Love this topic, because it is so special and so spiritually powerful! This family really felt the spirit. When we focus on what we have a Christ, that he is the center of it all BECAUSE HE
REALLY IS!

We had a family of 4 in our English class and they loved it.

We left home early yesterday to walk Tiago and his family to church!
We got to the house annnnndddd... ugh! They had slept in.

We also gave a blessing to the 97-year-old mother of the our branch president who broke her femur. Then she was in the hospital, then she got pneumonia and ad then an  infection, so it’s really hard on her and hard on President Andrigo and his young family. He looked so worn out and tired. He is needing all the help he can get.

Lots of people talked to their pastors this week and told us not to teach them more about the gospel, which was sadIncluding Cristiane and Vanessa and Tiago and Vitor. Lots of pastors used fancy words and confused themWe left one last message with all of them to trust in God, not in man. And the ultimate test is to read, pray and put it into practice. But we’re not feeling down, everything turns out in the end.
Tudo bem (it’s all good)
Tudo vai da certo. (everything will be alright)

Dennis is a man from another city, a member who hadn’t been to church in lots of years. He moved here last week and out of the blue he ran into the missionaries on the street saying he was feeling the need to return to the church. He walked right in before the sacrament. The sacrament meeting was the best. We all got to bear our testimoniesI made a lot less mistakes on the piano haha.
A recent convert talked about how she almost gave up on the church and stopped receiving our calls, but then prayed and received an answer that she needed.
Vem e segue me, (Come Follow Me) was the best this week everyone loved it including our
investigator and the recent converts and yeah it was a good Domingo (Sunday).

It was a great week, lots of baptism invites, lots of street lessons with new people.

Just another week in the books,
Amo Cristo e a Igreja dele (I love Christ and His church)
