Crazy Week
31Dec18
Christmas was great. We got to sing Christmas songs and I played some Christmas songs on the guitar.
We had a churrasco Brazilian barbeque (like they do at the Brazilian restaurants at home) and it was great mmmm!
It rained every single day this week which was good to cool down a little bit. But with everyone traveling for the holidays, there was no one home or in the city to teach or talk to so it was one of those slower weeks.
My companion, Elder Silva’s grandma passed away Thursday. So that was a rough day. Every day we say a pray together and bear our testimonies before we leave the house. And the next day he bore his testimony about how strongly he felt the love and comfort of Jesus Christ.
Sunday was good. I’m still trying to fix up the old organ in the chapel, to use during sacrament meeting, but until then it's a'capella. We had some investigators (super awesome) in sacrament meeting and out of nowhere some members from my last area walked in before sacrament meeting. They were in town to see family and it was so good to talk with
some old friends about my old ward :`)
It was so great to talk to you all for Christmas!!! There was so much that I wanted to say or that I forgot to say. hahah
We are having another churrasco for today for NEW YEARS. Yum
I know that the Savior lives and that He loves us I know that lifenever was supposed to be easy or some thing we just pass through. But it’smeant to be hard and its meant to refine us.
It’s like one big filter and with filters sometimes, things get stuck behind and the things holding us back stay behind. I have felt that so much, but it feels so good to let the things, holding us back, go. The atonement of Jesus Christ is EXACTLY FOR THIS. I know the Lord knows what we need and I know it’s going to be hard butit’s those hard things that make us more like Christ.
During New Year’s, let’s make goals to become the people that the Lordwants us to beeeee!
Love you all so much
-Elder Sheffield
