I’m getting transferred!!!
Man its bitter sweet!
This week was crazy (as usual) but extra crazy because of Christmas conference of the mission!!!
I was a little sick this week, after getting soaked last week, someone caught a cold and passed it to the rest of us missionaries, everyone is sick. haha
The conference was awesome. President talked about how the angels just didn’t appear to any shepherd but he came to the shepherd over the sheep used in the temple to be sacrificed. The significance of how they were called to guard the real lamb of God who would be sacrificed for us all. We talked about how we often as missionaries are telling others, not to fear, just to come unto Christ. But other times we are the ones fearing and we need to fear not. The world is so full of distrust and unbelief and hardships and fear.
As a present, we all received a picture of Christ to "look unto him".
Mariah and her family Uanderson e Rosangela were baptized this week!!!!! They are the cutest family. Mariah reminds me so much of how you always describe Emily when she was little. She is always taking care of her little brother Theo.
Right after the baptism, Saturday, we had a talent show presented by the missionaries and it was so great. A bunch of pesquisadors (investigators) and menos activos (members of our faith) came and it so much fun. Mateus asked me to sing “Stand by me” by Bennie King. Everyone was laughing at my soulful singing (and I was really acting it up- you know me). In the end I think I got a little too excited and did a kneel slide. hahaha
Thaianes played the violin and Fernada played “Can’t help feeling in love” on the ukulele.
I played guitar and Guevara played the ukulele, and all of us sang “Nativity” the primary song, which was awesome. We had a bunch of other talents and members and it was great. After that, we had our ward Christmas dinner. We had to have 2 elders carry in the rice, there was so much, it was like the arc of the covenant in Indiana Jones but with Brazilian food, meat, beans, and salad. It was all so great. Papa Noel showed up and gave presents to the kids, it was a great day. It was a good way to finish of the week and the next day we received a call that I was getting transferred!!!! I’m going to miss my home here in Ponte Nova, but I’m excited to get to know the city of Uba and my new companion Elder Silva!!!
I don’t know what it will be like there, but I think I’m going to be skyping, for Christmas, around 10-11 o clock Utah time. But I’ll email if anything changes. Does that work for you there?
I love you all so much!!!!!
I know our Savior lives!!!
